Chairman Smith Congratulates Alvin Brown On Making Runoff In Jacksonville Mayor’s RacePledges Continued Support For Brown’s Campaign
Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith released the following statement congratulating Alvin Brown on making the runoff election and pledging the Florida Democratic Party’s continued support for his campaign:
“In the coming weeks, the city of Jacksonville has a clear choice of looking back to the past or moving to the future; a choice between the old way of doing things versus new leadership in the Mayor’s office.
“Alvin Brown is a business executive and outsider. Brown is the leader Jacksonville needs to bring his common sense, business approach to improving the whole city and creating jobs.
“The other candidate in the race, Mike Hogan, is a typical politician who only wants to protect the status quo. Hogan’s long record of working against the people of Jacksonville is clear. He voted to increase his own salary and cut funding for schools, which is not the track record we need to improve Jacksonville for the future.
“I am confident on May 17th, the voters will choose to move Jacksonville forward by electing Alvin Brown as Mayor and I look forward to helping him in this campaign.”
