REP. DOROTHY HUKILL SNAGS TOP SPOT ON FLA DEMS’ RICKPUBLICANS LIST
Hukill Earns Nod for Steadfast Support of Controversial Elections Law
Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Democratic Party today announced Rep. Dorothy Hukill has earned a top spot on the list of Florida Rickpublicans, named for their misrule that puts corporations and special interests ahead of Florida’s middle class families.
“Dorothy Hukill has sworn allegiance to Gov. Rick Scott and the Tea Party in her support of Florida’s voter suppression law,” said Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Scott Arceneaux. “In these tough economic times, while Florida families struggle to get by, Hukill and the Rickpublicans have focused not on creating jobs, but making it harder for Floridians to vote. It’s time for real leadership and a new direction.”
As Florida teachers become entrenched in the fallout of the new voter law, Hukill has stood steadfast in support the law – even scolding a Volusia County teacher threatened with fines for registering students. Hukill has also come under fire from Democratic challenger, Frank Bruno, who is leading the charge at the state level to repeal the onerous law.
After more than a decade of a one party Republican rule fueled by corruption and greed the state has fallen behind in the critical areas of education, job creation, and the quality of life. Today, Rick Scott Republicans – Rickpublicans – continue to run amuck in government putting corporate special interests ahead of Florida’s families.
