TALLAHASSEE, FL — Following the results of tonight’s primary election in which Heather Beaven was elected as the Democratic nominee in Congressional District 6, the Florida Democratic Party released the following statements:
STATEMENT FROM FDP CHAIR ROD SMITH:
“I’d like to congratulate Heather on her victory tonight — Florida Democrats are looking forward to doing all we can to win this race and elect her to Congress. Heather has a record of service to our country and her community, and she’ll be a champion for middle class families who will stand up the extremists who are trying to end Medicare as we know it. With Heather as our candidate, this is a seat Democrats will win in November.”
STATEMENT FROM FDP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SCOTT ARCENEAUX:
“Republicans like Ron Desantis and Paul Ryan have shown time and again that they’re not on the side of Florida’s middle class. From voting to end Medicare as we know it to giving tax breaks to billionaires and millionaires, the GOP has prioritized an extreme agenda that does nothing to help businesses create jobs or grow our economy — and Desantis would be part of this problem in Washington. Florida voters are tired of these broken politics from the Republicans like Desantis, and Democrats are committed to running an aggressive campaign to elect Heather Beaven.”
