When Will Carlos Lopez-Cantera Denounce Racist Jokes From Rick Scott's Staff?
Over the weekend news reports indicated that newly-ousted Finance Chair Mike Fernandez raised concerns about members of Rick Scott’s campaign team “joking around using over-the-top Mexican accents.” According to Rick Scott’s campaign manager, Melissa Sellers, she claims that “if something was said in an accent, no one remembers what it was.”
They don’t even remember the content of their racist jokes.
“Making racist jokes appears to be a major part of Rick Scott’s Hispanic outreach plan. How long will it take for Carlos Lopez-Cantera to denounce these tasteless jokes made by his campaign team?” said Florida Democratic Party Political Director Christian Ulvert.
