Republican House Redirects Public Health Dollars to Ideological Clinics That Commit Lies of Omission To Patients; Putting Public Safety At Risk

Republicans take away 400 million from public hospitals and then give millions of our taxpayer dollars to their ideological donors 

In passing HB 969, the Republican House of Representatives put the public health of Floridians at risk in order to appease their friends and donors. HB969 guarantees funding for The Pregnancy Care Network​, an organization that aims to take away a woman’s right to choose by offering incomplete misinformation to the patients they serve.  

“The fact that Republicans are taking $400 million away from public hospitals and then re-directing our public health funds to prop up healthcare clinics that irresponsibly provide ideological and not medical treatment to patients is beyond reckless.  By funding health networks that withhold medical facts from patients and commit lies of omission, the GOP is putting the safety of their patients at risk.  Passage of HB 969 is just another example of the Republican-led House funneling our taxpayer money to their ideological donors at the expense of Florida families. “​
