Today, the Florida Democratic Party and Democratic lawmakers released the following statements in solidarity with Venezuelans taking to the streets to fight for their freedom and democracy, and to denounce the legitimacy of the Maduro regime. In Florida, the Venezuelan community will be marching in different cities across the state to express solidarity and demand an end to the atrocities caused by Maduro and his government officials.
FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement:
“The Florida Democratic Party stands in support with the people of Venezuela marching today to demand an end to the illegitimate Maduro’s regime and the restoration of democracy. We denounce the illegitimacy of the Maduro’s regime and his efforts to remain illegally in power. The Florida Democratic Party stands united with Venezuelans in their fight for democracy.”
Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell released the following statement:
“On January 23rd, Venezuelans will once again take to the streets to fight for their freedom. I stand in solidarity with Venezuelans in demanding that democracy be restored in their country and to find an end to the crisis caused by the Maduro regime. I will continue to work in Congress to address the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela and to help our Venezuelans brothers and sisters living in Florida. Venezuela is not alone.”
State Senator José Javier Rodríguez released the following statement:
“Today, 61 years after the overthrow of the dictatorship in Venezuela, Venezuelans take the streets to demand freedom and an end to the illegitimate regime of Nicolás Maduro.
