On the first day of the Democratic Presidential Primary Debate on NBC/Telemundo, the Florida Democratic Party is excited to welcome the first ten presidential hopefuls and watch them discuss the issues that matter to Floridians.
Terrie Rizzo, chair of the Florida Democratic Party issued the following statement:
“Today is the first night of the first Democratic Presidential Primary Debate and I welcome tonight’s presidential hopefuls Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Bill de Blasio, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, Tim Ryan, and Elizabeth Warren. Florida and America will be tuning in to learn about your visions for the country. These debates showcase the depth and diversity that the Democratic Party has to offer –– and that whoever is our nominee, we will take back the White House next year.”
Florida Democrats have already begun an aggressive effort to lay the infrastructure for the eventual Democratic nominee to win Florida in 2020. In partnership with the DNC’s Organizing Corp 2020 program the FDP has 90 field organizers on the ground who are working to register hundreds of thousands of voters, and the FDP is making a multi-million dollar investment to organize and communicate with communities of color –– including advertising in key outlets and the launch of a new, weekly Spanish language radio program on Radio Actualidad. Florida Democrats have also launched a year-round voter voter protection and education department.
