The Florida Democratic Party is excited to announce the 2019 State Convention will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida on October 11–13, 2019.
The Florida Democratic Party organizes a statewide conference every two years to decide the direction of the party and lay the groundwork needed to win.
Terrie Rizzo, chair of the Florida Democratic Party, released the following statement about the Florida State Democratic Convention:
“We are excited to announce that our 2019 State Convention will be held at Disney’s wonderful Coronado Springs Resort. The Convention brings together delegates from across the state to take part in trainings and workshops to defeat Donald Trump. Beginning in early 2019 we have committed to registering 200,000 voters and will invest more than $4 million in efforts to build our local party infrastructure and in meaningful outreach to rural voters, people of color and Democrats across the state. The Convention is the next step in our efforts to turn Florida blue and take back the White House and our country.”
Information on press credentials will be released in mid-August.
Florida Democrats have already begun an aggressive effort to lay the infrastructure for the eventual Democratic nominee to win Florida in 2020. In partnership with the DNC’s Organizing Corp 2020 program the FDP has 90 field organizers on the ground who are working to register hundreds of thousands of voters, and the FDP is making a multi-million dollar investment to organize and communicate with communities of color — including advertising in key outlets and the launch of a new, weekly Spanish language radio program on Radio Actualidad. Florida Democrats have also launched a year-round voter protection and education department.
