On Wednesday, Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo joined local Democratic leaders in Wakulla for an event as a part of the ongoing statewide Rural Tour. Rizzo focused on energizing and encouraging local Democrats to get involved to help elect Dems up and down the ballot in 2020.
The Florida Democratic Party began its Rural Tour in 2018 to reach to voters across the state and talk about the issues they are concerned about. The Rural Tour events also lift up candidates in rural areas that are seeing Democratic candidates for the first time in decades. For more than twenty years, Republicans’ failed policies have heavily impacted voters in small counties.
“The Florida Democratic Party is visiting every single corner of our beautiful state and I am very excited to be here in Wakulla talking to voters and uplifting the work of our great Democratic local leaders,” said Rizzo. “If we want to defeat Trump in 2020, we need to listen to Floridians all across the state and let them know that we are fighting for their health care and their jobs — issues that the Republicans have neglected for years.”
