Over 30 Events Took Place Across the State
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Florida Democratic Party held a voter registration day of action. The party had over 30 events across the state.
Hundreds of trained organizers and volunteers went out to register new voters and enroll voters in vote-by-mail.
“The Florida Democratic Party wanted to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, and we did that today by helping Floridians register to take part in our democracy. Voter registration and voter protection have been fundamental to the civil rights movement and we will continue to work to ensure everyone can participate in our democracy. Today was an important day in our history and, with it being the one-year mark before the next presidential inauguration, an important day for our future.”
Rizzo took part in the day of action, volunteering at the Restoring The Village event and forum in Riviera Beach.
Democrats registered voters in over 30 locations, including the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parades in Liberty City and in Pompano Beach.
