In advance of the voter registration deadline for the Presidential Preference Primary, the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is launching “Democrats of Faith” with a goal of organizing voters of faith and faith communities who oppose the immoral personal behavior of President Donald Trump and the cruel policies of the Republican Party.
As part of the program, Democratic elected officials and community leaders who are people of faith will visit more than 30 places of worship across the state to promote voter registration and participation. They will draw contrasts between Democratic policies that are consistent with moral and faith-based teachings and the behavior of Trump and Republican policies, which are not.
In the lead up to the general election, FDP’s “Democrats of Faith” program will visit more than 200 churches, synagogues, mosques, and other places of worship to promote voter registration, and to organize, educate and turn out people of faith who oppose Trump and the Republican Party’s cruel and immoral behavior and policies.
“Donald Trump’s personal treatment of women, people of color, and his long history of cheating and lying to get ahead is not consistent with any faith or religion I know.”
Rizzo continued: “People of faith are standing up to this President and our ‘Democrats of Faith’ program will ensure that faith voters understand that the morality of our country is at stake in this election. Democrats aren’t waiting until the general election to organize our partners in faith, we’re starting now and it will make the difference in November.”
