Statement from Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz on Thanksgiving Eve
On Thursday November 25, 2021 Americans across the nation will celebrate the traditional Thanksgiving holiday. In recognition of this occasion, Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz issued the following statement:
“Thanksgiving gives us an opportunity to both reflect on and express our gratitude for the blessings in our lives. I consider myself lucky in countless ways, but this year I have something new to be thankful for: the honor of having been chosen to lead the Florida Democratic Party.
“I am proud of the work we have done so far this year, and look forward to the many accomplishments we still have ahead of us.
“I am thankful to have been entrusted to lead a state party so thoroughly committed to our country’s founding values, that all are created equal and every person is deserving of a life of freedom, dignity and respect.
“We will continue to work towards a state and a nation where you are expected to work hard, but can expect to get a fair shake and a chance at success, regardless of race, religion or where you were born.
“Florida Democrats are committed to building back better than ever before, and this year I am grateful to have been chosen by fellow Democrats across the state to lead our party in that effort.
“May you enjoy a happy, healthy and joyous Thanksgiving, and may your blessings multiply in the year ahead.”
