As U.S. Supreme Court Hears The Most Significant Abortion Case In A Generation, Marco Rubio Is Hoping For An End To Roe v. Wade
Today the Supreme Court hears oral arguments today in the most important abortion access case in decades that could determine the future of reproductive health care for millions of women, Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Marcus L. Dixon released the following statement:
“Marco Rubio has long opposed women’s rights to make their own health care decisions, and worked to put anti-choice Justices on the Supreme Court. With decades of precedent and access to reproductive health care for millions in danger, it’s Rubio’s actions that have helped put reproductive rights at risk. As officials in Florida and states across the country push dangerous new abortion restrictions, the last thing Floridians need is a craven Senator like Marco Rubio who enables these attacks on women’s health care.”
Marco Rubio has a long anti-choice record that includes supporting some of the Supreme Court justices who allowed Texas’ abortion ban to go into effect. He’s defended Texas’ new anti-abortion law himself and attacked Roe v. Wade, calling it a “catastrophe” with “horrifying” results. Rubio has also opposed abortion in all circumstances with no exceptions.
