After a mass shooter in Buffalo, New York killed 10 people in a racist attack, Marco Rubio is opposing bipartisan legislation to help law enforcement better investigate and stop domestic terrorism. Rubio voted against a bill to create new offices in the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the FBI to monitor and investigate domestic terrorism, which is on the rise.
“It’s deeply disturbing that Marco Rubio is too afraid to stand up to extremism in the wake of yet another mass shooting. Rubio has repeatedly chosen to play politics instead of supporting law enforcement, and his self-serving agenda is making Floridians less safe,” said Florida Democratic Party spokesperson Grant Fox.
Rubio’s vote against the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022 is just the latest example of him abandoning law enforcement to score political points. Just recently he failed to show up to a hearing on funding security for the Capitol after January 6, and voted against funding for Capitol Police and law enforcement offices across Florida.
