Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz on Swearing-In of President Biden Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court
Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz released the following statement on the swearing-in of President Biden nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court:
“Our state should take pride today as we watch a native Floridian and graduate of Miami-Dade County Public schools become the first Black woman in our nation’s history to take her seat on the Supreme Court.
“At a moment when recent decisions from the Court have not only been hostile to proper jurisprudence but to the freedoms and values Americans hold dear, Ketanji Brown Jackson’s credentials and experience, along with unique perspective, will add a critical voice on the Supreme Court. She is an exceptionally well-qualified jurist who will use her extensive judicial knowledge to stand up and protect our rights.
“I thank President Biden for fulfilling this promise and congratulate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as she makes history.”
