While DeSantis has been traveling across the country to pursue his national ambitions, Florida’s Republican Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are wondering why more is not being done to address gas shortages in South Florida after Fort Lauderdale was devastated by catastrophic flooding.
Rick Scott tweeted: “Florida families shouldn’t have uncertainty about their next tank of gas. Every resource available should be deployed to fix this.”
In a video, Marco Rubio questioned why more isn’t being done to get gas to South Florida.
The comments from Scott and Rubio come after Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried hosted a press conference with local leaders and impacted individuals in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week to slam DeSantis for traveling out of state while people in South Florida continued to deal with the catastrophic flooding.
