FLORIDA DEMOCRATS RESPOND TO DESANTIS APPOINTMENT OF MOMS FOR LIBERTY CO-FOUNDER TO ETHICS COMMISSION
In response to the appointment of Moms for Liberty Co-Founder, Tina Descovich to the Florida Ethics Commission, the Florida Democratic Party issued the following statement:
“Ring the alarm bells,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “Tina Descovich is nothing but a political puppet for the MAGA Republican Party. When she’s not salivating over removing school board members from office on Ron’s ‘hit list’ or orchestrating book bans, her PAC is taking funds from public officials who she is now charged with overseeing.
This appointment is another assault on public education and anyone who still believes in the rule of law. Ron DeSantis is weaponizing the ethics commission to give himself and those who have pledged allegiance to his extreme agenda, a free pass on a long list of ethics violations.
