FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY RECOGNIZES INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY
In recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the Florida Democratic Party issued the following statement:
“Today, Florida Democrats recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day. We honor Florida’s Native Tribes and acknowledge the tribal land on which our state was built. On this day, it’s important that we reflect on the long history, strength and resilience of Indigenous communities across Florida,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried.
“We call on Governor Ron DeSantis to have Florida join the many states across the country that have recognized Indigenous Peoples’ Day as an official holiday.”
