Florida Democratic Party Endorses Michael Gongora for Miami Beach Mayor
Following Tuesday’s primary election, the Florida Democratic Party is proud to endorse Michael Gongora in the runoff for Miami Beach Mayor.
Michael Gongora is an attorney, community activist, and a former elected official who served three terms on the Miami Beach City Commission. A resident of Miami Beach for over 30 years, Gongora is a longtime supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, environmental initiatives, and reproductive freedom
“The Florida GOP has been waging war on democratic values, free speech, and human rights for years — and now they have their sights set on Miami Beach,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried.
“Michael Gongora is the only Democrat in the race, and the only candidate who will use his platform to fight for our core values. He’s the right choice to lead Miami Beach, and he’ll have the full support of the Florida Democratic Party as he sprints to the finish line.”
The runoff election for Miami Beach Mayor will be held on November 21, 2023, with early voting locations open November 17–19.
