Florida Democratic Party Statement on Armed Conflict in Ecuador
After internal armed conflict broke out in Ecuador on Tuesday as a result of an organized crime offensive, the Florida Democratic Party issued the following statement:
“We are deeply sorry for the tragedy Ecuador is going through,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried.
“We extend our support to the Ecuadorian community in Florida, and we understand how concerning it is for them and their families in their country.”
“We appreciate the statement made by the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols, who made it clear that the United States stands ready to assist Ecuador.”
“We hope that the Ecuadorian authorities, under the leadership of President Daniel Noboa, can control this Civil War for the well-being of the Ecuadorian people.”
