Today, the Florida Democratic Party launched the filing process for candidates interested in running for district-level delegate positions to the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
146 district-level delegates will represent Florida at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Chicago, IL from August 19–22. Delegates will be elected from each of Florida’s 28 congressional districts on April 20th, with early voting available in some districts on April 18th. Delegates will nominate candidates for president and vice-president, as well as adopt the official party platform for 2024.
“Serving as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention is an honor and a privilege for the most dedicated members of our party,” said FDP Executive Director Phillip Jerez. “Florida’s delegation will have a chance to help shape the party platform and officially nominate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for re-election — I know they’ll make us proud.”
The filing deadline for candidates is March 25 at 12pm EST. For more information or to apply for election as a delegate, visit floridadems.org/2024-national-convention.
