Florida Democrats Blast Republicans Blocking Bipartisan Border Bill
Over the weekend, the U.S. Senate released a bipartisan bill to secure the border and protect democracy in Ukraine and Israel. In response, the Florida Democratic Party has issued the following statement:
“Republicans don’t want a solution — they want a problem,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “Republicans in Washington have already lined up to block the new border bill, despite a bipartisan effort to offer real solutions for our broken immigration system.
“Rick Scott was determined to tank the border deal before he even read it, because he’s more concerned about the man pulling the strings from the golden throne in Mar-a-Lago than solving any problems for America. Floridians have a unique understanding of the immigration problem and see what’s happening in Washington with clear eyes — as usual, Republicans are complaining about a problem instead of acting to solve it, because it’s politically convenient for Donald Trump.
“The choice in November is clear — leaders who prioritize the safety and security of all Americans or those who will play politics with people’s lives. It’s more important than ever to re-elect President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to secure the border and our national security.”
