FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY CELEBRATES OVERTURNING OF GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE BAN
FDP Chair Nikki Fried calls on Republicans to “stay the hell out of doctor’s offices”
Today, a federal judge ruled that Florida’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors is unconstitutional. In response, the Florida Democratic Party has issued the following statement:
“Transgender Floridians have a right to exist — period,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “Today, we’re thankful that equal protection under the law truly means protection for everyone, and that Floridians can continue to have access to the medical care they need.
“Ron’s obsession with the LGBTQ+ community has always been about politics and power, not policy or medical facts. With every law that the courts overturn, it becomes clearer that his failed run for the presidency was built on unconstitutional extremism that has no place in our democracy. Florida Republicans should learn from this ruling — stay the hell out of doctor’s offices and focus on making Florida more affordable for everyone instead.
