Scott’s Plan Would Threaten the Livelihoods of 4 Million Florida Seniors
Today, on the 89th anniversary of Social Security being signed into law, the Florida Democratic Party released the following statement on Rick Scott’s signature plan to end Social Security and Medicare as we know them:
“Floridians are facing an affordability crisis, yet Rick Scott wrote the plan to rip away the benefits that seniors worked their entire lives for,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “Scott’s plan would be disastrous for four million seniors who rely on Social Security to pay for food, housing, and healthcare. Florida seniors can’t afford Rick Scott in the Senate and will hold him accountable in November.”
