Rick Scott is Afraid to Debate Because He Can’t Defend His Record
Scott’s Plans to Gut Social Security and Medicare, Raise Taxes on Working Families, and Ban Abortion Are Deeply Unpopular
Today, the Debbie Mucarsel-Powell campaign announced they’ve agreed to three televised debates. Meanwhile, Rick Scott has ignored the debate invitations and hasn’t done a sit-down interview in Florida since June. Scott’s strategy is simple: he’s dodging the debates because he can’t defend his record.
Scott’s plan to end Social Security and Medicare as we know them and raise taxes on the middle class, his support for Florida’s extreme abortion ban, and his attacks on contraception and IVF are wildly out-of-step with Floridians. Being held accountable on live TV would be a nightmare for Scott.
