Florida Democratic Party Announces Take Back Florida Distinction Program
21 congressional and state legislative candidates to receive increased party support
Today, the Florida Democratic Party announced the launch of their Take Back Florida Distinction program.
The Take Back Florida Distinction spotlights the most competitive races — and the candidates running in them — up and down the ballot across Florida. Twenty-one candidates, selected through a rigorous application and vetting process, will receive grassroots organizing and fundraising support to flip seats from red to blue in both 2024 and beyond, furthering the Florida Democratic Party’s core mission to Take Back Florida.
“We’ve spent the last two years rebuilding the image and infrastructure of the Florida Democratic Party, and we’re ready to prove to Florida and the rest of the country that Democrats can have success here,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “We’ve already started that process through the election of Tom Keen in HD 35 earlier this year — now, these candidates will break the Republican supermajority in the Florida House and provide backup for Democrats in the U.S. House and Florida Senate.
“In many of these races, Democrats have been counted out in the past — but with the right investments, these seats can be winnable in the future. Our candidates are hard at work in their districts, knocking on doors and making phone calls to remind voters that the Florida Democratic Party is fighting for them every day. The enthusiasm on the ground in Florida right now is contagious, and our candidates are well-positioned to take advantage of that and fight for these seats in November.”

Voters can visit www.takebackfl.org to view the Democratic candidates in their county. The deadline to register to vote in the November elections is October 7, and the deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot is October 24.
