Today, the Florida Democratic Party announced a six-figure investment in reaching Haitian Floridians, launching new ads and an organizing campaign to turn out Haitian voters in the final weeks of the election.
The six-figure campaign will reach Haitian voters with ads in both English and Creole and fund grassroots organizing efforts. The ad, “Words Shape Our Reality” calls out Donald Trump and JD Vance for attacking the Haitian community with racist lies and stories JD Vance admitted to creating in an interview with CNN last month.
“The targeted ad campaign reminds Haitians that their vote is powerful in this election and that words shape our reality,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “The false narrative that Donald Trump and JD Vance spread is having real consequences for Haitians in Springfield, Ohio and Haitians across the country, especially in Florida. On November 5, Haitian voters will show them the consequences of their words by voting to send Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to the White House.”
Florida has the largest Haitian population in the country with over 300,000 registered Haitian voters in the Sunshine State. The ad spend is the largest Florida Democrats have allocated to a constituency in this election cycle, demonstrating the party’s commitment to combating hate and misinformation and mobilizing Haitian Floridians to vote for leaders who will fight for them.”
