Florida Democratic Party Statement on Black History Month
In recognition and celebration of Black History Month, the Florida Democratic Party has issued the following statement:
“It is often said that those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it — and as Donald Trump and Republicans attempt to cancel observation of Black History Month, it is more important than ever to tell Black stories and celebrate Black history. Black History is American History,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “This month, we recognize and honor Black communities who are the first to stand up for our Democratic values, especially Black women.
“In the face of increasing attacks on Black people and culture, and the normalization of racist rhetoric from the White House podium, Florida Democrats recommit to standing up for Black communities, recruiting and electing more Black Democratic leaders and staying in the fight together.”
