Florida Democratic Party Announces Latest Take Back Local Slate
Four local candidates to receive increased party support
Today, the Florida Democratic Party is proud to announce their slate of Take Back Local candidates for the March 2025 municipal elections.
The Take Back Local program is an initiative to provide resources to candidates in competitive local races across the state. Four candidates, selected through a rigorous application and vetting process, will receive grassroots organizing and fundraising support from the Florida Democratic Party. These Democrats are candidates running serious campaigns with a competitive path to victory.
“The Florida Democratic Party is focused on making gains at the local level in 2025,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “This latest slate of Take Back Local candidates has what it takes to win elections, and we’re proud to invest in their success as we build a brighter future for Florida Democrats.”
The Take Back Local slate for March 2025 includes:
- Michael Hensley, Town of Lake Park Commission
- Jackie Railey, Coconut Creek City Commission District B
- Marlene Shaw, Gulfport City Council Ward 2
- Dom Vargas, Boynton Beach City Commission District 3
The upcoming municipal elections will be held on March 11, 2025. The deadline to register to vote in the March elections is February 10, 2025 and the deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot is February 27, 2025.
