Floridians Facing Massive Cost Increases for Health Care

Ron DeSantis and Byron Donalds want working families and seniors to have less access to care.

As the Republican government shutdown drags on, over 2.2 million Floridians are about to see massive increases in their health care costs on November 1, when renewal notices begin to arrive. Many will be priced out of their plans due to this inaction.

Instead of urging their colleagues to extend these lifesaving tax credits, Governor Ron DeSantis believes Floridians under 50 should go without preventative care and Congressman Byron Donalds has expressed doubt that working families need a “full-blown gold-plated health care policy.”

“Floridians are working harder than ever to make ends meet during our state’s affordability crisis, but out-of-touch politicians like Ron DeSantis and Byron Donalds believe that Floridians deserve less access to care in order to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires and multinational corporations,” stated Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried.

“I urge Ron DeSantis and Byron Donalds to tell their constituents to their faces that they don’t deserve quality care while they work hard to feed their families.”
