Florida Democratic Party Thanks Florida’s Veterans for Their Service

Today, Nov. 11, 2025, marks Veterans’ Day, created in 1954 to honor those who served our nation. There are over 1.6 million veterans in Florida, whose service we honor and remember today. Democratic Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried issued the following statement thanking these veterans for their service and commitment to American values:

“The Sunshine State is home to the third-largest population of veterans in our country. From the Naval Air Station Pensacola in the Panhandle to Naval Air Station Key West at the southernmost point of our state, service members and veterans shape our communities for the better.

Today, we give thanks for your service and commitment to upholding the American values and ideals as a force for good,” said Chair Fried. “We recognize the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our veterans and their families, and we celebrate their service.”

“We will never forget all that you have given. Our veterans have given all of themselves to defend our country, and should not have to fight for the benefits they’ve earned when they return home. Democrats will continue to stand up for those who donned the uniform and ensure that the needs of veterans and service members are front and center in policymaking. We stand with you and we thank you.”
