No Mid-Decade Maps

Voters should choose their leaders — not the other way around.

You’ve probably seen the headlines out of Texas, where Republicans are trying to draw congressional maps in the middle of the decade to lock in more power.

Typically, states redraw their district lines once every 10 years after the federal census to reflect population changes. The last census was in 2020, and Florida’s maps were just finalized in 2022. This process is called redistricting. There is no legitimate reason to change them now. This attempt to draw new congressional maps in the middle of the decade is not normal.

This is a waste of millions of taxpayer dollars and a distraction from what really matters: making life more affordable for everyday Floridians.

Housing, groceries, insurance, healthcare,  it’s all too expensive. And instead of helping everyday Floridians, Republicans are too busy rigging the rules to help Donald Trump stay in power.

If you’re sick of it, we need you to fight back because voters should choose their leaders — not the other way around. #HoldTheLineCall your state representative and tell them: Do not support new maps mid-decade.
