Florida Democratic Party Expands State-Wide Campus Voter Registration Program

TALLAHASSEE, FL. — The Florida Democratic Party is doubling its Campus Voter Registration Fellowship, expanding from six to thirteen colleges and universities across the state. The program places paid fellows on campuses to register voters.

“The leadership we’ve seen from on-campus organizers can’t be understated, and the partnerships we’ve cultivated are creating a pipeline for the future of the Florida Democratic Party,” said Nikki Fried, Florida Democratic Party Chair.

Student leaders say the investment has made a measurable difference:

“Paying student organizers has been a game changer,” said FSU College Democrats President Madalyn Propst. “Offering paid roles to our top volunteers has more than doubled our engagement.”

“It is more important now than ever to have a strong Democratic presence on our campus,” said UCF College Democrats President Jasmyn Stewart. “With the help of the FDP, voter registration is more accessible to students.”

“As a result of the party’s support, our chapter is able to table for longer hours. At a time of intense distrust in the political system among young voters, this kind of investment is critical,” said UF College Democrats President Juan Osorio.

The Florida Democratic Party has campus organizers at: Florida State University, Tallahassee State College, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, University of Florida, Florida State College at Jacksonville, University of North Florida, Edward Waters University, University of Central Florida, Valencia College, University of South Florida, Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College, and Miami-Dade College.
