DLCC Investing in Efforts to Break Republican Supermajorities in Florida
Tallahassee, FL – With momentum building behind Democratic candidates statewide, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) is investing resources in Florida’s state House and Senate races, marking its first direct investment in the state since the 2020 election cycle. The funding will boost Democrats’ push to break the Republican supermajorities in the Legislature and bring the concerns of hardworking Floridians and seniors to Tallahassee this November.
“This investment from the DLCC will build on the movement Florida Democrats have created by organizing year round in all sixty-seven counties,” stated Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “Voters have made it clear that they’re fed up with the high costs, corruption, and chaos of Republicans in Tallahassee and they’re ready for leadership that addresses their real issues. Our incredible slate of Democratic candidates across Florida have been listening, and we’re going to break the Republican supermajorities in the Legislature in November.”
“The Florida state legislature has become a laboratory for the very worst of the MAGA agenda, leading to a historic affordability crisis, rampant corruption, and chaos for hardworking families and seniors,” said DLCC President Heather Williams. “The DLCC is excited to invest in the effort to break the GOP supermajorities and put an end to the era of unchecked Republican power in Florida. 2026 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shift the balance of power, and the DLCC is all hands on deck to elect true public servants focused on addressing the needs of the people they represent, not capitulating to the whims of the Trump Administration.”
“Republican supermajorities in Florida have sent the cost of living skyrocketing, our insurance premiums through the roof, and our public tax dollars into the pockets of their friends and corporate donors,” stated Senate Democratic-Leader Designate Tracie Davis. “We are extremely grateful to the DLCC for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us as Democratic candidates communicate our agenda to lower costs, raise wages, and clean up the corruption directly to voters across the state.”
“The DLCC have been incredible partners helping to bring support and attention to our fight here in Florida,” declared House Democratic Leader-Designate Christine Hunschofsky. “By directly investing in the efficient programs we’ve put in place, it shows the value of the hard work our candidates have done knocking on doors, talking to voters, and running strong campaigns to give Floridians a real choice as they cast their ballots.”
