Florida Democratic Party Announces 2026 “Defend Our Dems” Slate

Tallahassee, FL – Today, the Florida Democratic Party announced the nine incumbent Democrats selected for its 2026 “Defend Our Dems” program, an initiative built to protect sitting Democrats running for re-election in seats critical to the balance of power in Florida.

Each incumbent will receive sustained grassroots organizing and fundraising support from the party through the November elections.

“These incumbents have shown up for their constituents, term after term, and now we’re showing up for them,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “Protecting these seats isn’t optional, it’s how we hold the line and keep Republicans from expanding their supermajority. With the right investment, we’re going to make sure every one of these leaders is back at work in January.”
