Florida Democratic Party Names Additional “Races to Watch” for 2026

Tallahassee, FL – Today, the Florida Democratic Party named eleven additional candidates as part of its “Races to Watch” list, highlighting opportunities where Democrats could expand their power in Congress and the state legislature this November.

These races round out the party’s broader Take Back Florida Distinction program, and reflect districts where shifting political dynamics and strong local candidates have opened new paths to victory for Democrats.

“Florida is changing, and these races are proof of it,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “These candidates are building real momentum in districts Republicans thought were safe, and we’re watching closely because with the right support, any one of these races could be the next flip that helps us take back Florida.”
